Default need help with a 2005 kodiak 400

i have the 05 kodiak and i thought it was the carburetor but ive rebuilt it twice now. every time i get it wet it dont matter if im washin it or muddin it always sputters it has a custom built 2' snorkel but only for the muffler it has 27" power king mud cats and it dont have a rev limiter. i used to think it was the water in the gas but when it does it i always drain the gas and put new in. could it have anything to do with the spark plug or anything else

I have a kodiak 2004-450. I had carb sputter and the dealer wanted $150 to repair. I drained the tank and used stp gas treatment. Apparrently I let some fuel lay in the bowl to long. i e 2 weeks. The treated gas these days has additives. They form a coating on the jet and internal float that causes a gum that will cause your atv to sputter, stall and rev poorly. Try this, I repeated it 3 x's until it was normal again. I now add a capful with each fillup and remember to turn the gas off and let the atv run out of gas after each usage. I also use a gas stabilizer in small amounts. I hope this works

Anybody else get gas at the same place you do, cause it could be bad gas

I've never had that problem, and both my machines often sit a couple weeks without use and have always started no problem.
I do use Stabil, so maybe that's the difference.
A lot of guys are using a product called Seafoam in the gas, suppose to keep everything nice and clean, so I think I'll run it thru.
