Does it run any different with the choke on or off? It sounds to me like you have a clogged jet.

How about th parking brake? Unhook that to see if it is causing problems. With it on it will sputer and back fire if you give it gas.

go to the back of the quad by the brake and push the parking brake forward( bottom toward the carier) this should fix it.. if it does.. go t othe dealership and get a block off plate and remove he parking brake

He said it runs fine when riding. The E-brake can always be a problem but it wouldn't be able to go above idle. I would do what jaygood17 said and check how it does on the choke. Did this problem happen to change when cold weather came back? What happens when you downshift? does it also pop and backfire?

98% sure this is your problem. Richen your idle jet, give it a 1/4-1/2 turn counterclockwise.

ya its not the e- brake beccause it does run fine when you are driving it. it mostly just makes a popping sound when idling and i believe when decelerating. is the idle jet the one that you can just adjust by hand? the idle also spikes when sitting with the choke on and occasionaly with it off. thanks for the help please keep it coming

The idle jet is usually a 1/4inch or so straight head screwdriver screw on the side of the carb. What your thinking of is the idle throttle adjustment, thats a little different. Its probably the idle jet or an air leak somewhere. Try the jet first, it should be right on the side of the carb and fairly easy to get to. Look at both sides.

the screw is on the bottom of the carb on the motor side...you can get to it with a stubby screwdriver, or just a flathead bit and yor fingers.
