Any known problems with 07 raptor 700?
#1
I'm pretty interested in the 07 raptor 700, and I was wondering if there are any problems with them?
I hear that the 06 had problems with the throttle position sensor, did yamaha fix this for 07?
I also heard of the frames cracking at the rear mounting tab for the upper a arms?
Please help inform me. Is the gytr worth the extra cash?
Thanx,
Jay

I've had mine for about a year and a half. I've had no problems with it until the other day when the engine light came on. It still runs fine but I am afraid to take it out. I have no idea what caused this. Am planning on taking it to the dealer next weekend. But other than that the beast has started up everyday and runs just like the day I got it.

well nobody really replied, so it may be ok to assume that these are good machines. I just don't want to make a near $8000.00 mistake. I traded my 02 raptor in for an 03 predator and I still kick myself in the ***.
How are the 450r race quads (any of the 3)? I live in New England so its pretty rocky and I ride in the trails would any of them 450 s be too stiff. Thats what I didn't like about the predator. If I rode slow the quad was too rough, it would beat me up.

I have had my Raptor 700 for about 6mos. now and have nothing zip nada bad to say about it. The ride cannot be beat except maybe by a plush 4x4. The power stock is good and if U add pipe, filter, controller, and 15 tooth sprocket it is just plain awesome! I have no regrets buying mine and I have had it in the sand, mud, and snow. If U want to save money try finding a leftover 06, but if U have the money the new shocks on the 07SE are even better and adjustable, but it comes down to the $$$. I paid 7k otd with rear paddles 6mo. ago so should be even lower deals available now.

I just heard something the other day about if you add an exhaust and K&N even with the efi adjusted the machine runs to lean and will burn up the motor. Has anyone else had this problem or know if its true??? I was going to add a exhaust and K&N to mine but not if this is true.

With the addition of an aftermarket high flow intake and an aftermarket exhaust system it is highly reccomended to get an EFI cfontroller so that you can add fuel to get the most out of your mods. There are some dealers that can adjust the factory maping to add fuel for the mods but the draw back to that is if you unhook or kill the bat you lose the programming.
You can find a package deal for an exhaust and controller on ebay pretty reasonable. Once you get used to the power, adding and intake exhaust and a controller really wakes the 700R up.
