Raptor oil
I like amsoil 0w40 thats what i run in all my toys. DO NOT RUN CAR OIL IN YOUR QUAD! use motorcycle specific oil only! Some people change it every 2 rides which is absolutle insane in my opinion. I change mine twice a year and it looks almost brand new. Then again the shee is a 2-stroke so the tranny oil doesnt lubricate the crank or piston bearings.

Raptor oil
Any kind of oil designed for atvs or motorcycles will work. Just use the appropriate weight/viscosity for the time of year. I usually run Silkolene (4.50 a quart) or Valvoline (3.20 a quart). 10w40 for the cooler months and 20w50 for the warmer months. I usually change the oil twice a year regardless of how clean it may still look, with an off road engine it doesn't take much to accumulate moisture and other contaminants. You should change the filter every time you change the oil. Or what I do is actually change the fitler once a year, and then just clean it out the next time. But I run Parts Unlimited filters, which are a fine steel mesh. You might not be able to get away with cleaning the perforated paper ones.
