Default 06 wolverine 450

hey all,, Id like to hear some opinions on this... I purchased me new an 06 wolverine 450 last july off the showroom floor... its been running awesome.... above 900 miles it started backfiring alittle (its got 1600 miles now as its ridden daily as I live on a 70 acre farm) ...

1600 miles and 5 oil changes, 6 spark plugs,2 air cleaner cleanings.

it starting to sometime backfire now when I left off of it suddenly from full throttle.. a friend of mine says its normal... it idles like glass with no valve train noise. 3 weeks ago, I got mud lite tires,,, which are two inches taller than the stock ones... front and rears... it seems slower now, and seems to have a power hesitation at mid range... doesnt back fire much,,, just sometimes.. it runs so good otherwise and idles like glass... anyones else's do this?

Not that it has anything to do with the backfiring but.. Did you upgrade to an after market clutch kit like EPI for use with the larger, heavier tires?

No,, I dont have an upgraded clutch... I have seen people that have them but I have no idea what it does, can you tell me? is it the centrifugal clutch in the v-belt housing? is it easy to change? Ill get one by spring time (there only be a thousand more miles on it by then) ... Ill do a search for them on google. or if you could send me a link.. thanks

It changes the whole animal that you have, you lose some top end speed but you did that when you got bigger tires, but you will have your old takeoff speed when you had the original tires on it. It takes some time to change it but a person can do it by themself.
