Default 06 wolverine 450 lcd failure

hello folks, I just got done posting a msg a few days ago on my vibration on my wolvy with 1600 miles,, and now i have another problem to report..

this morning, i loaded her up and drove it 60 miles to an atv park... the lcd display is non-shattered, and in-tact.. was working perfectly...

I get to the atv park,,, start it up to pull it off... it started right up,,, bam .... I see my speedo isnt working!!! the only thing working is the gear indicator lights,,, and the coolant light is constantly on too ... everything works,, including the backlight on the lcd ,,, but it just doesnt read out the digits,,, and the coolant light is always on... like theres a bad ground or something... rode it around,,, verified the fan is working.... must be a ground got muddy or something.

i ignored the coolant light all day ( its definitly not working if it came on when the motor was stone cold) ...

anybody else had this problem? I look under the front end,,, theres so many wires un protected by mud and water its not even funny.. atleast yahama engineers could put in a plastic loom to keep mud out.... it must be a ground out,,, and it seems that speedo head doesnt control the fan ... since the fan is still working... no blown fuses... and no damage whatsoever to the speedo unit... first time the speedo did this... I think iam gonna take off the front fender, clean all connectors,, and put them in my own wire plastic loom as they should have been to begin with and see if that does...

right now,,, if you switch the ignition on ,,, you will get the backlight on the lcd to turn on,,, the coolant light comes on, and the gear indicator lights are still working if you move it between gears,, but the coolant light remains solid... and the motor is stone cold..so its not overheating...

no, warranty was up in december.. and the heck with taking anything to the dealer, they are so backed up now you wont get your bike back for a few months.. it still runs and the fan works as it should,, but its just got no digits and the coolant light is always on now. the lcd unit hasnt been damaged... very sure its electrical with the wiring..

ATVscene.com did a review and mentioned they also encountered a broken LCD.

Sorry to hear about your dealer service times too! That's a bit much..
