Default 2006 Raptor 350 Reverse troubles

Hey guys, ive been having trouble with my reverse. It engages fine, from forward to reverse, but from reverse to forward, it goes in when it wants to. Sometimes i put it in what would be first, and release the clutch halfway, and sometimes it goes in then, but sometimes it takes a long time to go in. What could cause this? Its on a 2006 Raptor 350.

My wifes 2007 does the same thing. From what i found out it uses the same reverse system that the older warriors used. When the bike is cold it is very easy to get into reverse but when the engine gets hot its alot harder. Its been a problem with the warrior/raptor 350 since 1989 when they first came out. Only thing you can do is try to rock the machine or switch it from reverse to forward while the bike is still moving backwards.

I get it 7 times out of 10 when its rolling in reverse, the other times, i have to either shut it off, or get it as far as i can, put it in first gear, all the way down, and let the clutch go halfway and it pops in and i can go then.

Yup, My Wife's does that sometimes, as did our '01 Warrior ....

And as was said, rocking the machine back and forth seems to work most of the time for us....

I just jiggle the lever while thrusting back and forth (kinda sexual isn't it) and it finds it's way back in.

Yeah, everyone that has a Warrior has said they have this problem. Mine is not too bad, its a 96, just wiggle and use the clutch like everyone else. I've never found it to be that much of an inconvenience. I absolutely HATE the way the Honda guys have to engage reverse with that stupid red button on the clutch lever.
