Default Grizzly 700 Cooling Fan

Hi every one, had my new Grizzly 700 last September and have now done 450 miles on it, the cooling fan still comes on occassionally when riding slow or ticking over. The other day when the fan came on, i stopped the engine using the kill switch but left the ignition switched on to let the cooling fan run for a while to cool the engine down, i expected the fan to cut out after a few minutes but it kept on running, i turned the ignition off and then back on and the fan had stoped, have any of you guys experienced this and could there be a fault with the tempture switch?

I agree. Sounds like a temp sensor. You don't get an overheating light when that happens, do you?

Sounds like your Grizzly is working fine to me. The thermostat setting to turn the fan on is higher than the setting to keep it on. For example, lets say the fan turns on when the coolant temp reaches 210 degrees, then the fan stays on until the coolant temp drops to 190 degrees. Your coolant temp was between those two settings when you turned the key off. In other words, it was warm enough that the fan would have stayed on if it was on, but not warm enough to turn the fan on if it was off. Those numbers I gave were just for illustration purposes, as I don't really know the exact temps the fan turns on or off, just that a thermostatically controlled fan works that way.

the reason for the fan to continue running is that the engine temp is high which is where the temp sensor is so with the engine not running there is no cirrculation so temp in the radiator is cool but not the engine so if you stop and sit for a minute and let the fan run, start it up to get the coolant to cirrculate and the fan will turn off.
