Would you have bought this?

Ok so I just bought a "new" 2005 Brute Force 750i for $5,099, no set up or anything just tax which came to like $5,500 give or take. Here's the catch though, it was the machine they parked out in front of the dealership ever day, it has 2 miles on it and 7 hours. Do you think I did ok? or is this thing going to be an oil burner? It's probably not the best break in circumstances, what trouble could I have with it if any? Yes it does have the new tie rods on it too. Wondering if I should get an extended warranty on it or not??? Thanks for the help! No Kawasaki haters please.

I think you did OK. I think the "break-in" is BS. Ive seen people rebuild a motor and immediately go to the dragstrip and race it. I would ask why it has new tie rods. That doesnt make any sense to me. The extended warranty is BS, too. It only covers an internal engine malfunction if something broke that was caused by the factory. If it were going to break because of something they did, it would've broken already. I bought a new ATV one time, and when they told me what the $800 extended warranty covered, I told them where they could stick it.

Yeah, probably not the best break-in process. But if you're gonna buy a used machine you always will be taking a chance with that. At least you know somebody didn't jump on it and beat the crap out of it right away.
As far as the extended warranty, I say screw it. I don't know anyone that had much luck getting work covered by warranty. Dealers always seem to find a way to screw you out of getting the work done under warranty anyways. Either "there's nothing wrong" or "it's normal for it to make that funny noise and smoke" or "the warranty doesn't cover that" or "it's your fault the crank bearing failed".
