Hey I need a 12v starter for my moto 4 its the older one but i need a new starter because my starter i broke the coil thingy when i was cleaning it. I am wondering if anyone has one if soo can they sell it to me for cheap? And another question is can i use another kinda of starter as long as it 12v? Or is there another kind that will fit? And i also need a moto 4 wire harness if anyone has one of those please let me know.

what year and size is it . also you can buy rebuild kits and replacement parts on ebay ,i looked on the website i told you about and they have a starter click on the yamaha emblem and find what size yours is and click on it and all the parts they have for it will come up. i have a 86 yfm 225 i am working on right now and there are not to many cheap parts for them because they are so old they have to order everything

 

ya its one of the older ones i dont know the engine size. But ya i did not see none there. And also do they have any rebuild starter kits to fix them? because i mest up the prongs in mine but i have a solder gun. Also I want to even make sure the engine turns before i start spending money. Ya know

you can look on top of the motor on the right side or down on the frame on the left side about six inches in front of your shifter i belive it is a seventeen digit number and write the code down and call the dealership and they can tell you what year and size it is and then you can go online and find the parts. the one in the picture looks like a 80cc to me

 

Alright it looks the same i think its a 80cc. But i will do that. Can i just search for 80cc starters? Instead of haven to buy a moto 4 starter?

hey its just one of those things you have to do . i am about to put a set of rings and a piston in mine but you have to do those things if you want to ride them very long
