The Raptor 660 or the Bombardier DS 650???

 

anyone have a estimate at least from prior knowledge????

 

ds!!! those things are nothing but torque!!!! it might be a good race,ds's are heavy!!!!
not a great trail bike (no reverse) but drag race or duning. hell of alot of fun !!

 

they are neck and neck... the Raptor will take off a little faster off the start, but the DS will catch up in the mid

 

I remember when I got my DS. A couple Raptor guys wanted to race. I read all the magazines like Dirtwheels proclaiming the Raptor the greatest ever. I couldn't believe I kept winning! The longer you race the farther ahead the DS gets. The Raptor is no slouch, dont get me wrong. Its weird tho, the DS is soooo heavy yet it seems with every shift it pulls harder in each gear.

 

SO what would be quicker out of the DS and the yfz450 because you have to know how to ride a Raptor if you get all your gearing and everything right I'm pretty sure you could beat the yfz450 on a long run because i have done it....

 

I dont race real long races. Not long enough to top out anyway. The 450s Yammys are fast stock. The two I've raced were like a tie really. Their front tires were by my rear tires. Its that close. Basically a tie. My HMF pipe never added much mid or top end, So I'm no faster on the end of a race than my friends bone stock 01DS. I find when "like" quads race the traction & rider are the biggest factors. Alot of quads are really quite close in speed from what I've seen.

 

Just read an old article from when the 400 Suzuki just came out. They did a desert shoot-out (open, fairly flat trail). In the speed portion of the test, the DS was fastest, followed by the Raptor, Cannondale, Predator.....
