my friend has an old banshee, titled as a 91 and numbers on the frame match
hes been trying to sell it and everyone is calling him and yelling that the front end is not right. they say that the front end is the wrong year and he is a jerk and he s "false advertising"
put it on craigslist and got like 30 irate phone calls and he doesnt even know why
take a look at this pick and if someone could explain to me what the problem is i would appreciate it

Its a "J" arm frame.
Yamaha made it like that. Its not aftermarket.
Yamaha started making the banshee's like that in their early years then found they began to fail so they changed it to the traditional "A" arm you see on all production bikes now.
I dont know when Yamaha decided to make the change.
Could it be possible they did it in the middle of a production year? I dont know.
Even though the #'s match to the title, could it be that the year stated on the title is wrong.
Is manufacturers sticker still on the frame or is it gone?

my friend has a 91 banshee....same color in fact and it has J arms in the front. His dad bought it brand new in 91. from what i can see fromt he pics that someone took and extended the stock arms them selfs. if you look at the upper arm by the shock you can see the re-inforcement on it. as far as i know 92 was the first year of the A-arm style
try this and they can prob help you out a little more
