Had a Blaster for the longest time and decided to upgrade to a Banshee. Got it home and did not like it. I know that these wheelers are known for no low end power. This 93 has slip on pipes, flat side carbs, and aftermarket air filter set-up. I am not yet sure how it is jetted. I'd like to get some input before I start ripping things apart. My question is are they really this bad. For those of you Banshee owners, on a flat level surface like pavement, do you need to really give it the gas to get it to move? I almost have to clutch to get it moving or it will stall. Is this the Banshee characteristic, or do you believe I have some sort of problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

No, they're not that bad. I had that problem when my jetting was off after the exhaust was installed.

 

yes this is very common with all banshees in general. They need to be wound up pretty dang high before you can let go of the clutch. Welcome to the 2 stroke world!

 

Banshees are like 125 dirtbikes, you need to keep em in the band!

 

Yeah give it some gas then ease out that clutch, once you start moving you will be happy you got ride of the blaster. If you like powerband, the banshee is the machine to have. Oh and the low end is not to brag about on these things.

 

I can take off on my shee just like it was a 4 stroke on pavement... (its geared down 1 tooth in the front) You need to take the time to fix the problem. Do your typical tests...
Compression?
Spark?
plug chop?
change gearbox oil.
All that good stuff.
