Mechanix gloves are good, but they don't have as much palm padding as true ATV/MX gloves.

Any extra padding in the palm for me is a bonus...

Good point, but I have never been a fan of the mechanix stuff, and have found that Ringers Split Fit gloves are about the nicest I have tried. They have plenty of padding, good support, clean up really well, are very well made, and are about $10-14 less than the other ones. I just saw them listed in a local tool catalog for $23

Oh and they come in four colors too

Just keep in mind gloves, and even grips are kind of a personal preference item, and everyone will like different things.
