Help!!!

I'm looking to buy a new ATV and I was wondering if people knew more about the 2007 yamaha grizzly 700. First off does anyone know how well the steering assist actually works and secondly if the electric motor should become dysfunctional and stop working out on the middle of a trail, or if your rolling the quad with the engine off does the steering still work or is the quads steering relying completely on that electric motor?
Secondly I would like to have the ATV's diff-lock system cleared up. When you push the diff-lock button does this engage the front differential lock or does this only "charge" the system to work once the Override button is pushed? Or is that even what the override button is used for? If it does work like this do you have to hold the Override button to keep the front differential locked or is it a on off toggle?
Any and all input or information is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Nick

Just bought one today. Love it to death. As far as the eps goes... I was skeptical at first, but after I got it home and got used to it, I don't think I'll ever go back. After only about 45 mins on the griz, I got on my dad's Polaris Magnum. Immediately after riding off on that, I realized that it felt like it was in 4wd, so I tried to turn it off, only to find that it wasn't in 4x4 at all. You can't appreciate what you're missing until you ride one of these things.
As far as it failing (eps), I believe that in that event, it would handle just as normal (like any other quad without eps). I don't know this for sure though, I suppose it's possible that it would lock up the steering depending on how the eps failed.
The diff lock and 4x4 system is very simple to use. Push the red button to engage 4x4 mode, then flip over the cover and push the yellow button (which will come out) to engage diff lock. As long as that yellow button is out (not in), the diff lock is fully engaged. The override should be for high speed reverse manuvering. I haven't used it yet, but there's probably a set speed that if you want to go faster than (in reverse), you need to press that button.

Can you still steer the quad when the motor is off and there isn't any power going to the EPS motor? I'm just wondering because if it were to fail, in my mind this would be the tell tale sign if the steering was still functional.

Was reading through my manual today and found out the override is actually for the diff lock, but not in the way you thought. The diff lock mode has a rev limiter (like many atvs do with reverse) and the override is to bypass that limiter.
