I sure as hell don't feel comforable wheelying or doing any kind of aggressive riding with a 600+ pound machine though. If that thing ends up on top of you, you might be eating and breathing through a straw for a while.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you picked the wrong machine if you want to pull a wheelie. They're just too nose heavy and underpowered, and the auto transmission doesn't help it either. If you're already disappointed you might want to just take a small loss and trade up to a bigger machine now (or a sport quad). It wouldn't be worth modifying the 400.

Clutching will get you more low end torque but a exhaust and high flow air filter will require you to rejet your carb and with all this you should be able to do some wheelies
Try this though.
Put your feet on the rear rack and find a smaller incline to go up stop the quad and then hit the gas while pulling back on the bars.
