700 bang for buck
#1
Well I have not been online for quite sometime so I haven't followed the latest performance hype. I sold my 660 and now I have the itch,-again. Before I sold the 660 I went on quite a few rides with my brother who has a 700, now it is stock, but I found it to be not all that impressive. I really like the look of the orange and black special edition but am having second thoughts. Will this machine awaken with an air intake and exhaust? Is there better choices if I am looking for trail performance? Well any info would be appreciated as my itch is getting stronger.

Just ignore the haters. All this guy does is bash Raptors.
The 700 is a lot better trail machine than the 660, stock for stock. Read most any mag test, and they will tell you that the 700 is a better trail bike than the 450, the 450 is a better track machine than the 700.
A frined of mine is a die hard Honda guy, has had 3 450r's, just rode a stock 700. He just couldn't get done telling me how impressed he was.
The SE has upgraded suspension over the standard unit, comp and reb adjustable shocks.
Actually ride one before deciding, it's always the best way.

Yeh I sat on the yfz 450 and I felt like it was just to small, I know that is kinda odd because I am only 5'11 but it was how I felt. I guess the question I have is do the 700's respond like the 660's do to an exhaust system? Are they fairly comparable in a straight line? I know it is lower, wider and longer but I never felt like the 660 was going to fall over,so motor eh motor?
