Raptor Noise
#1
Does anyone's raptor make a rubbing sound near the front sprocket when moving. I've taken it into the dealership, they keep telling me it is a normal sound of the chain lifting off the rollers. My bike didn't do it orginally, the sound just came on. Let me know.

Mine too-but it became more noticeable 1) when the chain was getting toward the large end of the "acceptable" slack range and 2) when the chain is cold. I use Maxima chain wax and it seems to run a little sticky in the cold weather. Once it warms up, things get quieter.

Make sure both of your idler pulleys spin. My top one had the wrong size bushing in it and it was tightned against the frame, not allowing it to spin. I discovered this after my third ride and the chain had already torn it up pretty good. If this is the problem the bushing off of a YZ-426 pulley will fit. Hope this helps.

It came from the dealer that way. I don't know if they were assembling another one near by and parts got mixed or what. I took it to the closest dealer to me,not who I bought from, and they ordered the roller and bearing but not the bushing, wich is what I told them it was. Lucky for me they had a raptor on the floor when I went back and they were able to compare parts so I didn't have to wait another 3 days without riding.
