Default raptor 350 with a bit of alcohol?

If you go on my profile you can see what upgrades i have. My raptor was not jetted right and was breaking up, not sounding right etc. I have the jets but couldnt find the right spot. We race jr. dragsters so we had a little alcohol( it runs on pure alcohol) laying around and i had an idea. When i filled up my tank full of gas(premium) i filled a spraypaint cap full of alcohol and poured it in. I fired up the machine and, it rode great! No breaking up,bogging, nothing. Felt quicker on mid-top range also. Smelled good too! Only about 1/4 tank has been run since i've done this and nothing has been weird yet. now i was wondering why did it do this? I am running a higher compression piston 10.5:1, but it says its supposed to run on premium which was what i was running. Could i not have been running high enough octane fuel? and is it ok to do this? i think it is its not that much alcohol and i didnt have to rejet. All repsonses appreciated.

93 octane is fine on a 10.5:1 compression. Thats all I have ever ran in mine with no problems. Maybe you had trash in the jets and it just so happened it cleared out when the alcohol went thru. Just a thought. When was it breaking up before? Bottom or top end? Because your engine runs on the needle height on bottom end and it runs on the main jet on top end. So for instance if it is only breaking up 3/4-full throttle your main jet is wrong. If it breaks up 1/4-3/4 throttle then the needle height is wrong.

Alcohol burns and doesn't explode. It also burns cooler. Adding alcohol to your fuel helps to ionize the fuel (makes a mist from big drops of gas) for a more efficent combustion and fostering complete burn of your fuel also it leans your mixture out, where before the breaking up seems to point toward a rich condition at WOT.
Also adding alcohol can lower your combustion chamber 100 degrees or more. Almost like running in much colder weather. In colder weather you need to have more gas and less air. Gas makes power. So what you did was to be able to run a rich condition effeciently in warmer weather. Without the alcohol you would have to lean your gas out to have a correct air/fuel mix.
A bennificial mistake... lol...
Check these two links out you may find them interesting and a better explanation of what really happened when you added alcohol...

Alkie will make it go lean. The more alkie you run the leaner it will get. Usually a rich condition won't cause a breakup. Rich will cause a doggie condition.
What does the plug look like? I would do a plug chop with straight gas and see what you get.

You do know that for your dial-a-jet system to work right it has to start with lean jets. Almost sounded like you were too rich, if so then the dial-a-jet wasn't helping much.

You already have the dial-a-jet, why don't you get the 'remote float bowl' and induct it with a bottle of alcohol, heck put some nitrous in the bottle.

The dial-a-jet is on its biggest setting and still was to rich i believe. It would break up about all the way through the gears. I'll see what the plug looks like and if i get into problems i'll let you guys know. Yea use the dial a jet to inject the alcohol, hmmmm nitrous is a possibibly lol. I guess i can learn alot from a dummy now cant I?

im finding that my quad is running weaker in the warmer weather and when the tempature cools down, it runs stronger. Im thinking that this could be becasue Im running a little bit rich. So if I run alchohol in warm weather, will this fix this problem and if it does how much should i run? (I got a 2.4 gallon tank.)
