well sounds like mine with the carb being dirty also clutch looks fine but thats just the outers in side the front one there weights and if they get dirt in the it will case the clutch to engage and bounce off the rev limiter. but it sounds like the carb. does it run fine at idle and did you sumurge it beyond the seat???

well on the clutch the four screws that hold the primary on should be removed and check what the grease inside looks like if there is not much in there then repack it with some grizz grease.
If the bike does it while in neutral or in park then I would look to the carb, check and see if there is anything stuck in either the main jet or the pilot jet, There has been quite a few people with junk in the carb causing this kind of a problem.

come on guys no matter what you do the carb vent line will always suck in w/e it can.i put a inline filter and that help out till the filter gets dirty.i cant think of anything else to do ,i hate that this stupid carb has to suck up by the vent line and ruin the fun of the machine

I have my vent rerouted to the intake snorkel to keep the dirt and mud out of it as well

well my wolverine is still sitting. still acting like its in a rev limit.. I looked up schematics on bikebandit.com ,,, and it lists there are two seperate nuetral switches.. one on the tranny and one in the front differential..
wish i knew how to disable everything..

i know its electrical or sensor.. i rode it around last night and it runs good at low end,, i cant tell you what speed it cuts out at because the lcd quit working months before i had this problem..

Apparently the sputtering problem can be a side effect of sucking fish, of one type or another, up the carb vent hose. I believe CARP are the main culprit. Check out this other thread for an explanation.

Actually guys I was wrong with it being electrical,, it was the carb!!! We didnt even need to take it off either. got a air gun with a small nossle and blew all the vent lines out, plus blew 120psi of air thru the carb at every entrance (fuel intake, bowl drain line, etc) .. try it next time you need a carb clean and u wont have to mess with taken it off..
