Gear ratios? I have a 12 tooth front sprocket (stock is 13) and the stock rear. Tires are factory size. But the 350 is a six xpeed where the 660 is a 5. and yes I do want to get the hot wheels radar gun.

 

your manual will tell you what the transmission's final output ratio is in 6th gear. Put that in in the final gear spot on the generic calculator, and with tire size and sprocket sizes, it will tell you your top (theoretical) speed.

Walmart had the Hot Wheels radar gun on closeout for $19. I had to buy one, lol.

quad-maniac is right about proving the top speed using the manual. You can do that. It will tell you how fast you will be going when you reach the rev-limiter in top gear.

The top speed of all atv's from the factory is limited to about 75mph. Thats is about what a stock 660 will do. Give or take due to conditions of coarse.

I proved in theory that my Raptor would top out at 88.38mph using gear calculators, my setup's approximate power curve, and fluid mechanics which used air density, drag coefficient,...etc. I also found that the drag coefficient on the 660 is about 0.717. I took me about 3 hrs to do all that. I ran it on GPS the next day and found it to run out of steam at about 89.2mph. I would say that my theory was pretty close.


Kyle Devor, You are shooting yourself in the foot with that 12T sprocket. Warrior/ Raptor 350's always respond favorable to a 14T on the front. You are shifting too soon. You aren't using all of you available power. This will in turn hurt acceleration and top speed.

 

I have a 14 tooth sprocket sitting around actually. I ordered it awhile ago but just havent put it on yet. I've been meaning to but i guess now I will. but i'm not after top speed though. Iride mostly bottom-middle end but I was just wondering what I was topping out at. I'll put the 14T on and see how i like it.

 

i tried it again in a dirt road with bald tires with mexican gas and it went 75.4mph. i guess i can go 80 on the road with good gas and good tires.

mexican gas is way lower on octane, its like an 80. since i live right above mexico, like 7 blocks away i go to mex and ride. i ran out of gas so i filled it up with mexican gas. it was acting as if my needle adjustment was off it sux so now i filled it up with texaco gas and everything is back to normal. i guess i can squeez 80mph with good gas, good tires and on asphalt.
