i have no idea.. i pulled up behind 2 z400s stopped in the middle of the "road" at the badlands and i saw them look at each other... say some things.. look ahead and they both leaned forward a bit and revved up a tad and dropped it.. i quickly shifted and took off after em.. i caught em by 2nd and by 3rd i had probably 10 quad lengths between us..

hell i raced a piped and filtered banshee and beat him by 10 lengths in maybe 300ft.. he knew he didn't have a chance though.. lol

what kinda jumps r u hittin to do freestyle with a banshee??? the wheelies r ok if u know how to do them wheelies tend to b harder with a 2 stroke than a 4 strokes because either its all power or u don't give it enuff power

you don't want to buy them new because you WILL have to replace the topend eventually.. basically.. your NEW banshee can have more problems than a used one

whats wrong with some of you
a new banshee is fine probably better than a used one
they All need topends eventually DUH
i mean not to be a dick but banshees are not bad machines they can do what ever you want them to do
they may not come like ltr450s ready to go almost but anything can be made for what you want it only takes money
i have an 07 banshee and i took my time and did a proper brake in (go to bansheehq.com and search how to break in, or go to exriders.com and go to the 250r section and its a sticky right at the top of the forum)
i have had NO problems with mine yet and i just put new tires on the back (Gator tires) and trail ride lots and hit jumps lots
i can make it through anything a slightly modded grizz 700 can do its all about picking the right spot and keep the swing arm from catching
now i do have t say if you are going to be doing 20+ feet of air it takes lots of skill on a banshee and lots of money is needed in the suspension department

the work to keep one running is easy too
change the oil every 20-30 hours
clean the air filter
check your jetting and get it dialed in if needed (not hard but very important)
use premium gas only!
i recommend for the first 10 hours of ride time to use yamalube 2 r and then amsoil after 15 hours
tighten the head after 20hours takes like 5 minutes and a torque rench
thats about all

remeber jetting is vital its super important
check bansheehq.com on how to do a plug chop

good luck
and have fun!

If you know what you are doing with a two stroke they are just as reliable as any thing else. I only use one plug a year. The only reason I change it is its a new year on the machine. My 250r is extensivly modified and I'm on my 3rd yr. on this piston. I'm still within all tolerences. Just make sure you correctly mix your fuel. Most people think its ok if you put too much premix in the gas that it will be ok its just added protection. WRONG. Say you normally mix your gas 50:1 and you mistakingly mixed it 32:1, more oil. You have effectivly leaned out your air to fuel ratio burning a hole through your piston. Remember, air : fuel is totally different than fuel : oil. Also make sure to shake your bike around a little before you start it too remix that oil, it will settle to the bottom of the tank when it sits for a while.

A properly jetted properly mixed 2 stroke will give you yrs. of joy at a cheaper cost of repair than a 4 stroke. IMHO
