Also A uni filter and set up your jetting right. I ride at 2500-5000 ft above sea level. I used the jets that came with the clutch kit and pipe and I run a little rich but not bad and in cold weather it will be perfect. A little rich in hot weather is good as long as you don't loose power. If you don't know how to re jet let a shop do it. Good luck.

The clutch kit was a big difference on the bottom end it made the quad more responsive and pepy and if I didn't have a winch and a box full of stuff on the front I would say wheeling wouldn't be to hard. If you put just the pipe on without a high flow air filter your power gains will be minimal at best. Ask any pro more air in more air out more fuel = more power. I have been working on my own machines for years so the clutch kit was easy. If you have friends who can help offer them their favorite beverage and have them help. The kit comes with complete instructions. I also recommend getting a service cd off of Ebay too will give you diagrams and a lot of info cheaply. Fact if you are any where near Spokane Wa I will help you.

Here is the exact auction I bought my pipe from that is running on my quad now. It sounds great but I have the quiet core installed so not much louder than stock.

Brian, when you install the quiet core, do you loose some of the benefit of the HMF pipe?

Brian, I also have an 07 Grizzly 450. I apologize for my lack of mechanical knowledge; but I did not know that although this machines have an automatic transmission (run by a belt) they do have a clutch. Can you please tell me how does an aftermarket clutch kit improves the performance and what other modifications can I do to improve the low and midrange power of this quad.
Currently my grizzly can reach 52mph as it is (stock), which is enough. I'm more interested in being able to accelerate from a stand still and out of turns quicker. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

the FPS clutch kit changes the springs in the centrifugal clutch making it engage at a little higher RPM 300-400 more which makes the take off way more pepy. Then there is some shims put in the belt drive that slightly gear the machine down giving more overall power. with the FPS kit not much top speed is lost.
I recommend do the clutch kit first.
Adding a HMF utility pipe and a high flow air filter will ad more low to mid pull. On my set up I put a special valve in the air box to flow more air.
hope this helps.
