O.K. I was taking my cylinder in to this shop called Duners in AZ to get a port and polish and almost right when I showed him the cylinder he noticed a couple of scratches in the bottom of the cylinder. So he told me that to get optimal performance out of this stuff I'd probably need to get it bored and honed and get a new piston along with the port and polish, so I'm pretty much considering doing it cuz my piston has scratches down the side. And almost in the same area in the cylinder has some scratches. So I'm gonna buy a new wiseco and get it bored and honed and get the port and polish depending on opinions. Thanfully he marked me down $50 for the port and polish so this whole thing is $295 ($150 for p&p, $100 for new wiseco, $45 for bore). Just need some help thanks, JOEY

Whats the problem? If it needs bored because it has scores in it, then thats what you should do. Don't try and do this the cheapest way and expect it to run great for very long. I've learned that the more you do to these Blasters, the more top end rebuilds you'll need to do. (or want to do so that you don't blow part of the piston skirt through the bottom of the cases)
In my opinion, it would be better to start off with an all new top end to go along with your port and polish.

alright well, I'd rather not get a top end since I dont have the money for completely everything, I barely have enough for this. So I'll just do this man, I'll worry about the top end later.

there's no such thing as a basic P&P job... and if you are paying for them to POLISH it then make sure it's polished... polishing does nothing for performance on a 2 stroke but porting will... weisco pistons run about $60-70 not 100... check ebay... $45 for a bore aint bad.. around here they're about $30-35

as far as porting.. if you want a VERY good port job.. check out this guy... he does AMAZING work and will help ya out alot.

I've heard of flotek, but i dont inted to send my cylinder out to someone I dont know. And .....dude...... the polishing part isnt even necessary for you to have said, I'm just touching that up and gettin the polish too. Besides, I hate ebay too lol!! There is almost no way you can be absolutely sure unless someone has 90% good feedback and all positive comments. I'd just go to wiseco.com or somethin, see what I can get, maybe vitos too. And by basic I mean a dune port alright, sheesh man.

OK I'm a little confused here. At first you said you were gonna get a piston and then you said you didn't want to get one. I agree with asfasasu3. If your cylinder and piston are scratched deep enough to catch a fingernail, you need a new piston and bore. Maybe you want to think about just rebuilding the top end for now and not get the P&P until you save up some more money? Just a thought. Cause a ported Blaster with a blown up engine is not very fun to ride.

Ebay is not that bad! Ebay is our friend! You do have to be careful. I have bought a lot of stuff off of Ebay with good results. The only negative things I can say are the shipping charges can get a little steep and I bought a wheelie bar that was tweaked pretty bad that was supposed to be in "excellent condition". But on the other hand, I did buy a 2001 Suntracker Party Barge pontoon boat for $2,500 off of Ebay. It was a little scary buying something like that off Ebay, and considering it was 6 hours away didn't help matters. But it turned out be a super deal and wouldn't have found a deal like that anywhere else.

kk well I'm gonna get a new piston but I didnt really want to get one since my bike was running fine before I even took it apart and saw this, I just found out though that I had never been jetted right since blasters are supposed to have a washer on the jet that makes it sit right and I never had this thing EVER. So I pulled a wheelie full throttle shifting into second when I finally put that on, and the weekend after that I took it apart for the P&P. So I'm gonna get it all.
