Anyone interested in top speed of the 08 Grizzly 700? I topped mine at 69mph. I weigh 160lbs and it was on pavement.

Thats pretty good. Any mods?? or just stock?? I have had my king 700 up to 73 mph and I could have squeezed more out of it. but now have large tires on it lol.

Yeah it's all stock. Only 100 miles. I think i can get it into the 70's but i don't want to be the type that the speedo says 69 and say it had tons more to go. That's when it wasn't really picking up much more so maybe i could hit the 70 mark but i don't know about 73. Do you have any mods on your king?

I'm not trying to hijack this thread but I would of expected the 700 to be a little faster than that.
The reason I say that is because I've had my Kodiak450 with only 250 miles on it (valve set-up has not yet been done) up to 93KPH (58MPH) on pavement and it was still accelerating before I had to let off.
Based on this, I was thinking that the Grizz 700 would have to be able to do 80 mph. But it may be giving way more torque than top speed which you would expect from any utility ATV.

At the time when I hit 73mph It was stock with around 130miles on it. I now have moose hand quards, bison front bumper, winch, full under side skids, dalton clutch kit, K&N filter, billet shift ****, and 27" mudzillas that will go anywhere. soon to be getting a performance VDI. have fun with ur grizzly, my buddy has an 07 700 grizz. He attempted to go through a hole that is above the fenders but has a very thick muddy bottom. He and I have gone through it before but this time he hit a deep spot and it shut off and he attempted to start it tho I told him not too. Well he ended up sucking water in the exhaust and I hade to tow him 12miles out from the top of a mountain and back to my house. Everything is fine now after a few oil changes and draining the water out. But it was a very close call, cause it sounded locked up at first. I am going to try that hole with my new tires soon lol.

There is no doubt that accessories to make you ATV go through tougher terrain will take top end off of it. Especially big tires. I'm wondering what mods are available that produce real results in performance improvement?

I've probably added 100 lbs to mine with the Yami full front bush guard set-up, rear seat with tow straps, etc. inside and the fuel can + rack. But the speed I recorded was with those accessories on. But having it go stronger is always better.

Your buddies exhaust/water senario always worries me when the exhaust pipe is gurgling away under water and your worried it might stall.

yeah, traveling deep can always bite you in the end. Its a matter of when no if you will take in water lol. But the best advice i can give is if it does stall don't attempt to start it at all. Just winch it out and then you can tilt it back on its rear rack to get most of the water out and then even take out the spark plug and turn the engine over to get what water maybe lying on the piston. yeah after market mods can add some extra weight.

All the ATV manufactures have agreed to not make a quad that goes over 72 mph. My grizzly 700 hit the rev limiter at 72 just like they desigened it. Who rides a atv that fast anyway?
Your atv will run even better when you get over 400 miles on it then go try checking the top speed again.
