I just traded for this bike about a week ago, it was doing fine till i went to start it after riding a few minutes and all the sudden its like someone yanked a battery cable off, the bike will pull start. after u pop the clutch all the electrical power comes back and works fine till you hit the start button then i get the same issue i checked the wiring for loose connections all seems good. i know these bikes are known to have bad starters, sometimes this one will start fine.

 

Good news for me, I finally traced the problem to the ignition switch. All is working good.
