I'm considering the Grizzly over the Outlander because of concerns with the Visco-loc and now they are made in a new plant in Mexico. I have heard it is not good to by the 1st year on something. I would think a new plant may fall into this one.
How fast on a GPS is a stock Grizzly.
How fast is a Grizzly with 27" tires on a GPS. Should you use a clutch kit with 27''s

64 mph max with 27" tires, and 69 mph max with 25" tires with our two Grizzlys. These were downhill speeds on graded gravel roads. The rev limiter kicks in at 68 mph, but with a downhill run you can get just past the rev limiter before the limiter drags it back down to 68.

Most clutch kits increase the engagement RPM, and slow down the shiftout rate to allow the engine to build more RPM sooner, which gets the engine up into its power curve better. This usually improves low speed performance, but hurts top end speed a little. So with a clutch kit you would probably have either the same, or less top speed, and not more.

I have heard a lot of folks talk about reaching the 68mph limiter on the Grizzly 700. I ride with several people and have never seen it done. I have 26" Mudlites on mine and can get to about 56mph on flat pavement. There are so many things that can effect top speed. Other than tires/wheels, I think rider weight is the biggest factor on an otherwise stock bike. I weigh 230lbs (6 feet tall). If another rider is 150lbs he would get more speed from the same stock bike. Something to keep in mind when seeing these higher speed reports. The numbers alone don't tell you the complete story. You have to compare apples to apples, not apples to cherries! Just something to keep in mind when you are seeking this sort of information.

The Yamaha 4x4 is better than the Visco lock. It works flawlessly! I hear a lot of folks complain about the Visco Lock lurching forward unexpectedly. You will not need a clutch kit on the Grizzly 700 when running 27" tires or smaller. Go to the EPI page. They even say that the Grizzly 700 clutch does not need upgraded springs for the kits they sell for the Grizzly.

I did get my grizzly 700 up to 69 miles/hr on flat pavement and my buddies 07 king quad 700 hit about 71mph...everything on both was just stock so yeah it does get up there... but going along with the body weight factor I only weigh 130 1bs... my buddy on his king quad is about 230 so maybe that machine is faster stock.
