i have 07 grizzly 450 with 27 in mudlites the front tires grab the front ujoint cover when i turn im getting spacers to prevent it and to also help stay out of others ruts two people have told me 2 different things i need help to decide, one saids 3 inches of total spacers , the others saids thats too much just to get 1in added to eat side

 

well it depends on what kind of spacers you are using, if you are just using stud spacers, I would stay away from them on anything you will use hard.

If you are using the plate spacers, 1.5 inches will be fine, after all thats only .5 inches per side of extension. I would say add the 3 inches because it will give you a lot more stability for hard riding over stock and a little more than the 2 inch spacer set.

 

I have the plate spacers on mine but I had them before I bought the set of ITP rims and they also have an offset which kicks the tires out even farther. You might just get by with a set of rims.

 

Any pics of your bike with 27"s... I was torn between 26"s & 27"s. I thought 26"s were a tight fit untill I put a 2" lift kit on.

 

the 27s fit great no lift kit ill send u some pics they only rub in 4x4 and its only when i make a hard right turn it catches the gaurd for the ujoint. i thought bout rims but im in the mud a lot and i dont want tospend a lot of maney on rims,causethey would just stay muddy, i can get spacersfor all 4 tires for i think it $115 on ebay,i just dont want them too far out

I dont know where your calculations come from but i have some 1.5 plate spacers on my wolverine 350 but each plate is 1.5" giving a total wider stance of 3 inches front and back. Where do you get .5 inches per side of extention from 1.5 inches

 

its not so much the ruts as it is the rubbing when iturn

Yeah mine stick out easily 3" to 4" past the fenders. I'm not a fan of the over fenders or fender extenders cause I like the way the bike looks with BEEFY WHEELS. But... there really is no such thing as a clean ride now. Even simple puddles come with a dirty shower for the rider.
