yes you have to buy pilot jets, just go to your dealer and they should have them there and be able to hook you up, you probably do want to go down on the main jet, also if you want more power, take off your air box lid, remove the spark arrestor and do the cam mod.. it will really open up that yfz like crazy!! but like scooter said its going to have the bog from idle to wide open, get that quickshot 2 and that will help a little..

i dont see the cam mod on yfzcentral.com do you have a link?. changing the main jet isnt going to do anything to how it idles is it?
so go down on themain jet to make it richer
and go down one on the pilot jet?
down one on main and pilot. got an estimate ofhow much these cost?

Since it is brand new, I would take it to them and have it jetted if at all possible. This should have been part of the dealer prep anyway. I thought they were sealing off the fuel screw and shipping these with a fixed needle now. If so, you may want to buy a different needle (I think it is the NCVQ from the bike that works great) and pick up a ZipTy or equivalent screw to install. The HMF website forum used to have some great jetting info if you need to do this yourself. Thumpertalk has tons of good info too...

your dealer might be able to do the cam mod for you.. but like scooter said if you did just buy it the dealer should rejet it for you at no cost.. but if the dealer doesn't know what the cam mod is then go to that yfzcentral and click on search type in "cam mod" and there should be a break down of how to do it.. if the dealer says the cam mod is bad for the motor, don't listen to him.. all the cam mod does is give your yfz the same cam timing as the YZ dirt bike, it gives you a lot more bottom end and you will definatly see a big difference in performace, you will love it!!
