Get a PRM .160 XC plate if you want the best protection, other wise, all of the top brands should be good. I'd stay away from the ones like DG's baja plate though, because they make you lose a lot of clearance. I had a PRM plate which was really gnarly, but I didn't need that much protection and it weighed a lot, so I switched to a Pro-Armour plate. Those couple of people that said not to get the thickest because it will hit more stuff are idiots. You will only lose about .03" of ground clearance if you pick a .190" plate instead of the .160" plate.

Yamaha dealers just say that so you will spend $130+ on their GYT-R plates.
If you go through rocks or over any other ground obstacles, that extra thickness will take the beating instead of your swingarm, sprocket, chain, etc.
PRM is a choice skidplate. I've run PRM for the last 5 years and they haven't failed me....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
