Default Opinions on Big Bear 400 IRS

I've been looking around for a long time and have yet to make up my mind on my first ATV. I'm not new to them whatsoever, but have yet to have one of my own.

I have been looking at the Honda Rubicon, Polaris 500 HO, BB400, etc.

I had my heart set on the Popo, but starting thinking about simplicity and the reliablility it offers. No digital readouts, no belts, no liquid cooling, etc. It starts to sound like the BB400 IRS might be the ideal one.

I just wanted to get everyone's opinion. I'll be using it for mostly trail riding, hunting in the fall and winter, and occasional pulling plows/rough cut mowers for food plots prior to deer season. It will need to be reliable and capable to do the above listed chores.

I'm more concerned with capability and reliability than with speed. My parents have 2004 BB400's and they are relatively slow (compated to some of the compitition)), but have been super reliable. I'mnot an all out speed freak so that is ok.

I just want to make sure it is the right decision before I plunk down 5K+ when I could have spent anouthe 300-500 for better/more capable product.

It will be the same as your 04 but a better ride with the IRS ,better traction with Diff lock (If Needed) and better steering with selectable 2wd/4wd.

May want to ask about a leaking rear end issues according to this. 400 BB IRS owner's reviews. Could be nothing though.
