Default HELP with 2002 yfm80wp

okay, well, im trying to sell my 2002 yamaha 80cc raptor but i need to get it running right first and i was hoping for some help.

When i try to start the atv up with the electric start, it turns over and is setting the piston in motion but it will not start. It will start however if i lay on the gas and have the starter going for a very long time. The last time i was able to start it cold with the electric start it took me a good 20-25 minutes.

When i push start the bike, it starts fairly easy. The problem is having to push start the bike everytime will run it's value down drastically. Anyways, when i get it warm, it idles nice and runs great. When i shut the key off while the bike it warm, i can start it with the electric start. However if i let it sit for like 15-20 minutes (still fairly warm) i have a heck of a time starting it with the electric start. The battery is charged and i cleaned and checked most of the electrical connections.

It also has a brand new starter because, while taking the old on off, (it had the same problem wwith the old one so don't say it is the starter) I accidently broke it somehow and it is locked up.

I would really appreciate any help on this. I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

P.S. does anyone in eastern Ohio or western Pennsylvania want to buy an 80cc yamaha? haha

That is something i have never done. Crap. I dont want to bring it in anywhere but if i have to i will.
I didn't know the valves would make a difference starting it if it ran fine.

Now that i think about it maybe ill have a buddy of mine who is a mechanic check the valves for me.

Thanks a lot

well with the valves out of adjustment it will depending on weather they are too loose or too tight(yours sound like too loose and letting it not get compression good when cold)
