header tape

Default header tape

has ahyone ever used header tape on an atv. my heat shield over the header pipe keeps getting loose and rattling tried using header gasket for spacers but still gets loose and rattles was wondering about the header tape and if it would stay any help appreciated thanks

that heat tape is made to put on the back of the heatshield..Not right on the header or pipe,it will most likley not work the way you want to use it..The glue and the backing will burn off and the will fall off..try some lock tight on it next time you tighten the shield down,that may help..Ohh btw I put like 5 layers of the heat tape on the back of my Wolverine heat shield,I can run all day and that shield won't even get warm ..Used right that stuff works wonders..

Default header tape

Yes you can use ceramic header wrap instead of your heat shield. I have used it on a WR250F before. It does not last for ever though. You can break it down with the powerwasher. The stuff does work though. Tim
