I have a Timberwolf that I have no idea where the vin# is located. I have found the engine #4BD-211981. I know that they made a 230cc and a 250cc, I need a new carb and do not know what size engine or what year this is. Thanks, John.

 

Okay, I just figured out it is a 230cc, stamped on the side of the case is 2290cm. But any idea how to find out the year? John.

 

The vin number is stamped horizontally, into the tubular metal frame on the left at the bottom. It is directly inline with the bottom inside edge of the front left mud guard. You will need some talcum powder or chaulk and rub it into the numbers. That way you can read them.

I finally found the VIN on this 1993 Yamaha Timberwolf YFB250. It was on the frame rail on the left hand side, forward of the footpeg, on the part that angles back toward the centerline of the quad.

Mine was JY44BDA00PAXXXXXX
