Big Gun JETTING Dialed In
#11
Bartolo,
I am in ohio and have the biggun head pipe with the white bros silencer(disc type). I put 160/165 with 27.5 pilots last night. It has instant throttle responce. I also have a white bros air fliter and two one inch uni vents in the air lid which really made it lean prior to the jetting. So far this really seems to work good tonight I will get more ride time on it and see how it goes.

Bart,
I got them at my local dealer. I believe it was $5 for about 6 of them in the package. If tonight I find to be still a little rich I am going to put two more vents in the lid. I look on the box and see if the is a part # if so I e-mail you later.

Are you doing your own jetting work? How long is it talking you to change 2 carbs worth of jets? I have the 150, 155 setup right now,and it lays over onthe big end, I have 2 sets of jets, a 152.5, 157.2 and a 172.5, 177.5. Which ones do you think i should go with?

No2StrokeBs,
Actually, I took mine to the dealer to have it jetted. They charged 1 hour per carb. I'm not sure I know what crankcase vent you are talking about. I installed the exhaust and there was no hose to the baffle. Do you have a CA model?
I'd hate to tell you what jets to use and then it be incorrect. I can tell you that the 160/165 with 27.5s and with stock air setup is a little rich. However, with the air box modified and/or an aftermarket filter, it seems to be the perfect combination! I just did a little wheely exhibition for the neighborhood kids and that thing now pulls HAAAARD in 2nd gear!!!

Hey guys,
SOrry for taking so long to get back to ya.
Bart, if you cut away a lot of the lid water and dirt will have direct access to your filter. The vents allow plenty of air and keep almost all water and mud out. The vent also have cleanable foam in them to filter out the dirt!

No2strokes,
I did all the work my self. If you take the front plastic and the fuel tank off it is really simple to do. Once you can get to the carbs it t
akes about 3 minutes to jet each carb-no lie. When you get the plastic and tank off the bike loosen the carbs from the boots pullthem back and turn them upside down and re-jet. I used 160/165 mains and 27.5 pilots. Rode all day sunday about 40 degrees out here, checked the plug and it is a dark brown>(perfect). The bike really did pick up some power too. It pulled away on the street from my fiends all stock raptor about 2 bikes we rolled on 3rd gear thru 4th and ran out of room.
hope this helps
