hard to get 04 raptor 660 into reverse
#1
any input will be greatly appreciated. when i shift into reverse and let the clutch out, the motor backfires and doesn't want to move. i just bought the quad two weeks ago, and wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem? thanks for any ideas.

Sounds like the rev limiter is kicking in, which is what it's supposed to do, but on the 660's it really works TOO good. Getting rid of the parking brake mechanism on the clutch lever should do the trick. There are 2 sensors on the clutch perch with 2 black wires to each. 2 wires from 1 sensor need to be permanantly hooked together and 2 wires from the other sensor need to be permanantly separated from each other. Can't remember which sensor's wires do what, I just did a trial and error until I got it right - you got a 50/50 chance to get it the 1st time. After this mod be careful - the 660 reverse is geared very high and you will have full power in reverse.
