ok guys here is a question maybe someone can answer. Dynojet makes a jetting kit for the Raptor, how come everyone is trying to figure out what jets to use? if you go to their website, the whole thing is laid out for the type of machine you have ie. stock, slip on exhaust and filter, or full race exhaust. AM I missing something? If I am please tell me so I dont waste my money. Thanks!

Dynojets are different from Mikuni rounds and can only be used with their needles and slide. So they say.

Thanks for the reply! I talked to them yesterday and they never mentioned anything about that, they just said you have to trim the flaps inside hte snorkel. I dont quite follow what you mean about having to use their slides and needles- isnt everything included in the kit?

It would take some convincing for me to spend the 80 bucks...it better be damn good and foolproof. I don't know how consistantly good the kit can work with so many variables...it seems to me each person needs to tune the bike in for their particular conditions. Who knows? Maybe the kit is great...I just want to see some proof of positive results. Hopefully, they put more thought into it than Pro-Design seems to have done with their filter kit.

I've used Dynojet jets in my Raptor and they worked just fine except for one problem I found.

It seems their quality control isn't so good. I was checking the diameters of all the jets I had and one of the Dynojet jets was labeled clearly as a 160 but when I measured the jet it was actually a 150. That can really screw up a tuning session

What is the difference between the Dynojet mainjets and the ones Yamaha sells? Because I was running 170/175 mains perfactly and I decided to try the Dynojet jetkit and I only run 148/150 along with their needle and springs and it runs good.

Well i have spent alot of time trying to jett my Raptor. It has the CT head pipe, muffler, proflow airbox with no lid can not get a lean spot out of mid range i am told this kit will take care of my problem with the smaller needle.Even Allen at CT told me this kind of funny they dont give you this with there kit when he knows about the problem! If it works it will be well worth $65.00 i have had my carbs in and out about 6 times getting old! I will let you guys know what i get. Skydog

Dynajet uses different numbers for there jets. They most likely did this to avoid mixing there jets with stock ones. That is why there 146/148 setup is equal to about a 170/175 stock setup. Thier needles are a bit richer also and they come with carb springs that are supposed to give better throttle response.

The difference with a Dyno-Jet kit is the needles are smaller in diameter. Therefore there is more clearance between the needle and the needle well, allowing for fuel to be drawn out easier. That is why the Dyno-Jet kit uses a smaller jet, and the stock needles require a larger jet.
