How is the raptor for someone like 6'3" 275pounds, i would like either a ds650 or raptor,i like the reverse but will it hold up, the ds seems beefier, any help

 

Well, I'm 6'5" and 240lbs...it seems to work fine for me. I do have taller seat foam on order for it, and I raised my handlebars a bit...it really is an awesome bike. My buddy has a DS650, and I personally don't think it fits me better. I do not like the feeling of BULK the DS has. Would not buy one myself. We all just got back from the dunes, and I could spank the DS in just about every catagory. I'm sure the DS is an alright machine, just not for what I like in a quad. Let me tell you...when my buddy got his stuck in the sand, he was hating life trying to lug that 500lb. monster out! Imagine how he feels when I simply put mine in reverse and easily get out of predicaments! Go with the Raptor, you'll be glad you did.

 

yeah, i am thinking about trading in my grizzly for a raptor,that would be fun, but i dont want to give up fourwheel drive, i am thinking of getting a small 4x4 for my wife(and me) maybe an explorer or Scrambler, with racks, i need to be able to carry stuff, or i might go the other way, (if i can wait) trade the grizz in on a new big atv, like the 650 prarie or if a new grizz comes out , and get a little scrambler 400 that she could still drive

 

I am about 6'1 and 220lbs and chose the Raptor. Reverse did factor in the decision, but the biggest thing was the size of the DS. It was too wide, too long, and too heavy for my tastes. I think it would kick butt in open desert/dunes with all the suspension and stuff, but the thought of having to muscle that thing around really turned me off.

There is probably 20% more room for the rider on the DS and I think the seat is a little cushier. The raptor seat is too thin on the last 1/3 or so for anyone even close to 200+ pounds.

 

my one friend is 6'2" and goes at least 325 and the raptor lugs his big butt around no trouble- he did gear it down to 12 tooth front sprocket though.

 

6'7" 240lbs. Works fine for me!

 

6'2 240--seems like it was made for me!!!

 

Do we have a unanimous decision here, or what?
