Ok, first things first. The guy that started this thread said.......

"well if i were to do it, it would be with a stock cam, like you said its an 88...i want it to be reliable and have the power it was meant to have."

I'm new here, and already tired of insane suggestions.

AVEREAGE POST:
"Hey dude, my tires are flat. Any thoughts?"

AVERAGE RESPONSE:
"Yeah, I'd bore it, stroke it, cam it, spring it, stretch it, NOS it.........."

F*CK!

Answer the damn question or shut the F*CK up!

WAH WAH Hotcams are better.........NOOOOO, Webcams are better.........

Who cares what you would do to a 15 year old bike if you had 10,000 to spend on it. At the end of the day, you have a 15 year old Warrior.

If someone asks about help rebuilding an engine, don't try and talk him into a 5,000 dollar project on a f*ckin 88 Warrior. Answer his questions.

Yeah since cams cost $5,000 dollars and whats the point of putting money into the POS anyway because it's just a POS warrior from '69.

I have an old Warrior also. What I'm getting at is, everytime some one asks for advice, they get told to put something WAY more radical than they wanted, and then it goes from......"hey guys, a little help please?" to a pissing match between two or three guys about aftermarket cams, high compression pistons, HD springs, ect, when the guy specifically said he wasn't interested. Start a new thread titled "Aftermarket Parts Pissing Contest" Quit polluting other people's threads. Have you noticed the originator hasn't spoke in like.........two pages?

Is a 10-15 year old bike worth 2,000 - 5,000 in aftermarket parts?
No. That's why I'm leaving my very fine and capable Warrior as is, and getting a 08 700R. IMO a much wiser decision.

When people give mis-information it's up to the rest of us to straighten them out. Would you want to ask a question and have someone give you bad advice, and nobody else respond, then you take teir advice and go screw your engine up? NO! And yes, Mechanicock didn't really want a cam to start with, but since we were already on the subject.................

Dude, you're agreeing with shred nasty about how people change the subject and talk people into mods that they don't even want , and nobody mentioned anything about a cam until you did! What gives?

I didn't mean to start a war...........and maybe I was slightly harsh. I understand the point about misinformation......but when one comment, or opinion is retorted by 3 other different ones, it's kinda like russian roulette. Who's right? How are you gonna prove it over the web? Recon99 has a SWEET *** Warrior, and he's gonna give up and buy a 700R as am I. Why? Out of 4 years he's turned a wrench more than he's rode the damn thing. Sometimes all the radical motor work works out for some people, and othertimes it turns into an endless money pit/wrenchturner to keep it running. In my experience, a motor that has high comp pistons, cams, springs, valves, aftermarket carbs, ect. are PAINS IN THE ***. Constantly adjusting, tinkering, replacing. To some, 11 extra hp is worth 8 hours of work for every 10 hours of riding. We're all here for one common thing. We all love our quads. Let's not turn it into gay *** little girl arguments about who's got the bigger quad, cam, or dick. Rebulding a quad is already a big enough pain in the ***.

It has nothing to do with girly *** arguments, although you want to make it into one.. Its about providing someone with facts that is looking for awnsers about parts or questions he/she may have. What works and what doesn't, whats a waste of time and money.. etc. Its just that simple.

I'm not here to argue with anyone. If you knew me in person you would know I'm the least confrontational person you've ever met. I'm just here to give my opinion and advice the best I know how with my experiences. I think you mis-interpreted this whole post. It was never about who has the biggest cam or ding-dong.

If ya'll want to waste your money and buy a Hotcam for your Warrior go ahead, I don't care. But I know what it takes to make a Warrior fast, and a Hotcam isn't in the picture. Hotcams are for suckers who don't know anything about engines. If you don't take my advice that's fine.

I as well was not here to start any Warriors. I simply read this thread and observed PMC had given some advice to the originator of the thread about a cam and they had discussed it, and I wanted to put it another two cents on a cam. Thats what these types of boards are for, to get multiple opinions on upgrades and use your own discretion based on how it was presented to you (and your own research) on what to purchase. I as well have a screaming Warrior with a built motor, and as well am looking to upgrade to a Raptor; but that doesn't mean I regret spending the money on my Warrior and that it was not worthwhile. My mods are listed in my page (click the cam) and I can outrun piped 400EX's and hang with Z-400's. I side with Raptor450 on the HotCam/WEBcam arguement, wholeheartedly. We are here to prevent misinformation as well as provide sound advice.
