How to repack HMF pipe?

Default How to repack HMF pipe?

I have an HMF pipe on my yfz and i can't figure out how to put new packing in it. I took the end cap off but the cylinder with the packing doesnt slide out. Any ideas?

Default How to repack HMF pipe?

To repack, you will have to remove the silencer, most of them are set up so that the core removes from the end attached to the head pipe, after you remove the bolts or rivets that hold them on, then it slides out from that end, you wrap the packing, tape it down, or wire it,whatever you prefer, then slide back in ,bolt it into the can, mount back to head pipe, install end cap, and you are good !! There should be some brand specific instructions you can find, maybe do a web search on HMF's web site to be absolutely sure.
