I like the control you get with the thumb throttle but by the end of it sucks. I heard from a post in here that someone makes a throttle the you can turn half way..giving you more control caus eyou don't have to turn it all the way. Anyone know of this?

If your referring to a twist throttle...Get a CR style from motion pro as its a 1/4 turn type twist. Once you get used to riding a twist throttle you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Not to dubunk STREAKs theory but, you couldnt give me a twist throttle for anything. Of course there are some that will disagree with me but i feel that a thumb gives you more control and keeps you out of bad situations such as when you are in a really rough powerslide/wheelie. you dont want to have your hands that you use to hold on for dear life to also control the throttle, While you are trying to pull yourself around on the quad you are also rolling on the power if you are not careful. A twist throttle wont make your quad any faster. And if you do any amount of riding at all your thumb will get used to the extended ride time. Remember how tired your legs were the first few times you did any serious jumping? Your thumb will grow stronger. I have a GSXR 1300 and have even conspired to put a thumb throttle on it. (just kidding)

No2StrokeBs is correct...Its all in what you like. I ride with guys who hate my twister and guys who love it and have thier own twister. I disagree that you have less control. I feel twisters have more control. No risk of your thumb coming off and putting you over the bars kissing the front fenders. Once you learn how to hold the throttle and if you are one with your machine I have better control with a twister. It is a decision only the individual rider can make. I still like my twister ; )

joeyd, I have a motion pro vortex 1/4 throttle on my raptor. Honestly it takes some time to get use to for corners and straight aways its great but for hill climbing its kind of tricky do to your eithe on the gas or off with the 1/4 throttle. I put it on for when I race after 2hours of racing your thumb is spent but with the twist everything is fine. For technical tight and exp hills the thumb throttle is better I dont care what anyone says you do have more controll with the thumb throttle expecially when you first try the twist. So once again Motion pro makes them the vortex is there race model and its 1/4 throttle and they do have a 1/2 throttle and a full throttle also. Hope this helps!

I put a Motion Pro twist throttle conversion on my 96 Banshee. I found it extremely difficult to control the twist throttle when I was leaning really hard to the right while having the handlebars cranked all the way to the right. I put the thumb throttle back on my shee and I cut one and a half turns out of my throttle return springs in the carbs. Another option for you would be to buy a thumb throttle extension for about $15.
