drilling out a stock raptor 660 exhaust
#3
You mean just removing the muffler core? I did it on mine and didn't notice any performance improvements. And it made it a little louder, but it sounded like a turd compared to an aftermarket exhaust.

I don't know. MAYBE you could open the exhaust, get an aftermarket filter and a jet kit and notice some performance gains. But then you possibly run the risk of running too rich. For comparison, my buddy just put a slip-on Curtis Sparks exhaust on his Warrior with no jet kit or air filter and he didn't notice any improvements other than sound. The local shop told him he didn't have to re-jet it if he kept the filter stock, even with the exhaust.

If you open up exhaust flow you must open intake flow. Then you need to match that with more fuel. Bigger jets. End result, more power! Only makes sense. why dont more people try with the stock ex? Saving themselves 400 plus dollars?
