axle threads! Help

Hello,
When replacing my bearings I was pouning on the axle with a rubber mallet and squeezed some of the threads. I cannot get the castle nut back on. Anybody know who could fix this for me????
Thanks.
I dont want to buy a new axle.

that sucks, u need to find out the thread size and run a die over the threads careful not to cross thread the axle that should fix it. might be a good idea to get a file and make shore the ends are even, dont take to much.

Next time, don't beat on the threads. Slide a piece of pipe or big deepwell socket over the threads and butt up against where the hub stops. You will just have to file the threads down, because when they smashed in, they expanded out. Then rethread them with a die set, and you might have to drill out the hole for the carter key because it probably closed it up some.

Raptor450,
I was hitting it was a rubber framing hammer...I did not think the axle so soft. I have already filed the threads down....how do I know which die to purchase....where will I find that information.
Thanks for your help man!! I dont want to pay another 200 for an axle. So far I have ridden this bike three times. First time, I blew my starter one-way, third time I blew out the bearings.

you can either take the nut in and thread it onto a bolt at the hardware store. or you can get out the manual and see how bit ur axle is. the easiest would to just try to thread it on a bold at the store then tell them thats the size of die you need.
