My buddy took his raptor 700 out for a day trip and started it up today and went up the road about 200 yds and it started making a weird noise. He said it sounds like an exhaust leak but everything was tight. The noise was coming from the exhaust and when he would touch a cover on the side ofthe motor it would quiet up alittle. He has the motor ripped apart now so is there anything he should really pay close attention to or anything inparticular he should check first? Thanks

 

chould the packing in the exhuast be bad?

 

He said the packing is good. He now says it was like he dropped a valve or something because its coming from the top end. He ripped the motor apart and said that it looks like the decompression pin is busted. I know nothing about these so I figured I would turn to the experts before something else goes wrong.

 

I just got off the phone with him again and he comfirmed that it is the decompression pin broke. Any body know where hw can pick one up pretty cheap? Thanks
