Default Raptor 660 R gearing question

Hey, Has anyone out there got an opinion on loosing a tooth on the front sprocket (I think that's all you can go?)to gear my '04 lower? How much do you give up on the chain adjustment? Does it give better low end without really killing top end? It looks like a stort money conversion but don't know if it's worth it. Thanks!

Very common gearing choice for the 660, a few mph lost on top end but much nicer to ride in the trails or dunes.

I agree with maddog and if memory serves, dropping only one tooth, the chain can maintain its stock number of links, the tensioner being able to take out that much slack.
