if you can make sure you can get in there and clean any shavings out I'd try drilling and taping a bigger one, but if not, i'd be a little skeptical.....

And you don't want to buy a outer case, thats just kinda dumb..

depending how bad it's striped out you may be able to use the same size tap and just refresh the threads either way like PM said watch out so the shavings dont go in the case. or you can find someone local who can weld aluminum and if its not something you really take off and on at alot just weld a portion on and move the fitting up a little bit or cut it weld it on then use a small piece of rubber tubing to splice the two sections of pipe together up a little bit.

thats a possibility, and may work better actually.
It dosent hold any cover on does it?

no ****.... i'm studying the diagram to see exactely how it bolts on so i could give advice i feel comfortable about, then think wait it's not my bike.....

This damn forum is addicting when its slow...........

yeah i've been at work for 9hrs and about lunch time i start to get unproductive and i find myself on here a little more than i probably should just waiting for someone to say something. luckily you and i are in the same boat

yeah today esp. it gets bad when your looking for new post.. damn weather... i wish the rain would go to somewhere besides here. but then I'd have to work so its a catch 22
