I just recently bought a 2001 Yamaha banshee that is bored .30 over,aftermarket carbs,FMF pipes and silencers....and etc.Well i was riding it the day before and it was running just fine when i rode it and the next day i went to crank it up and it startedand it woulnt open up.It will idle all day long but as soon as i give it gas it sounds like its got a rev limiter.So i took the carbs off and cleaned them and that didnt help.Then i gcheck the plugs and coil to see if everything was firing right and it was.I mean its getting fuel just fine but it wont let me give it any throttle.Now im confused.....could it be the reeds not letting it open up or something electronical.....please help me someone!!!!!!

 

My 97 did the same thing and it ended up being the emergency brake switch. I pulled it out of the handle and pushed in the plunger, and then my would rev up.

 

Man thanks a million.....just went outside and did that ant its running good now....i had to take the back brakes off yesterday and put new seals in it and i tried to start it to bring it closer to the shop when i encountered that problem....THANKS ALOT

 

i dont have a banshee but i had a warrior and it done the same thing,the other guy who said the ebrake switch is right.all i done was unplugged them,and mine still ran.
