Hey gang going to be buying a new quad in a few months. Most of my riding is going to be trail rides with some air time no MX stuff. Will be in some wet conditions say 15% of the time. Most will be weekend trail rides with family in KY. TN area. Like the idea of 4 wheel drive but don't know if i like automatic. any and all opions here would be great. worried about the balance issue of the wolverine. top speed of it is plenty for me. Raptor is great but worried about 2wd in muddy and wet conditions.

OK the wolvy is a great quad, light and nimble compared to any utility out there. The rappy will probably beat it in both the light and nimble catagories, but if you dont need the all out top speed of the raptor, get the wolvy.

The wolvy has plenty of top speed for me, And its easy to increase the low end power through simple mods, if its not enough for you stock.

The automatic is great on the wolvy because your never hunting for what gear on a hill or in the mud. As for balance, are you talking about in the air or on the ground? Air I have heard people say it flys very well. I havent tested mine to see if it does about all I have hit is a 4 foot jump and it did good for there.

Where this machine really shines, is tighter technical trails, hillclimbs, and a little mud because it can do it all.

all depends on your riding habits like CT said the wolvie is good for trails with more mud and where you would need 4x4. i have a wolvie and my old room mate had a raptor and half the time when we all went riding he either couldn't go do to mud or we spent alot of time pulling him out.

I have jumped my wolvy many times with the factory shocks and it does fly threw the air nice straight and level. landings with the stock shocks are a different situation tho. I have not had a chance to jump the wolvy with the new shocks but i expect them to handle jumps with out any fuss now.

if you ride in much mud i'd go with the woly... and you said top speed didn't matter to you so if you ride and technical trails the woly will keep up with the raptor, as far as biegn tipsy its far from it.... mine made it up some hell of hills this last weekend and di just find, actually outran the sport quads a couple time on some of the technical trails, andhe didn't hurt near as bad as i do, but he didn't flip like i did either...
