I have a 98 Big Bear 4x4 thats sat in my shop for a while. The other day I put a starter on it and the engine wouldnt turn over. I pulled the side cover off and tried turning it over by hand. The engine will rotate counterclockwise not the other. I push started it with another 4wheeler and it fired right up. My question is way wont the engine rotate both ways when I try to rotate it. Thanks for any advice because this has got me baffled.

 

have you tried it since you push started it, and was it in gear?

 

Yeah I tried it again since I push started it and the same thing. Engine will only rotate one way with it in neutral or in gear

 

something isn't right, but not quite sure, if it will start(pull starting, sounds like something is in a bind...
