axle nuts

Default axle nuts

is there a trick to getting axle nuts off? i replacing the sprocket hub on my warrior and i cannot even budge the axle nuts. its the last thing i need to do to get my $400 warrior on the trails.
let me know your secrets...

the nuts on the wheel hubs? Make sure the cotter pins are off and lube up the nuts, I would not heat them, this can weaken them. Use a breaker bar with a pipe on the end for more leverage.

if you are talking of lug nuts and if they are stipped. well this always worked for me. i get a thick grease wrag and put over the stripped lug and happer on the correct size socket and slowly use a breaker bar to get it off. if you are talking about on teh wheel hubs, well ATV_MAN is right on, i would do what he said.

not the wheel nuts but the jam nuts that are on the axle holding the sprocket on.

I use 2 big pipe wrenches that are about 2 feet long each - 1 for each nut.

i went down to my local cheap, 1 time use, tool store (harbor freight) and got a like i wanna say 24-30in crescent wrench for like 10 bucks and it got my banshee nuts right off = ]

I also used this method and it worked great for me

i useda toothbrush and teezers, lol nah u just gotta take the cotter pins out of the castlenuts, soak it in PB blaster and slip a pipe over big cresent wrench or pipe wrench or wutever and give it a few tugs, lol i hope u didnt already pull the wheels off and lifted it in air tho becuz it will be harder then
